Greetings, fellow photography enthusiast and thank you for visiting my website. As you can see from exploring my galleries, I am drawn to capturing images from nature. My passion for photographing plants and landscapes grew out of my 33 years of teaching and research in Horticulture at the University of Missouri. Over the years, I strove to develop my skill at capturing the essence of a plant so that my students could identify it from my images. This experience served me well as I began to branch out to other subject matter. With or without my camera, I find myself constantly on the lookout for interesting shapes, patterns and compositions from both the natural and man-made worlds.

I am fortunate to live in a place, in Boone County Missouri, which is very close to the Missouri River and a large wetland visited by millions of migratory birds. I also have ready access to plants that attract butterflies and to my favorite subject; the majestic, national champion bur oak tree at McBaine, MO.

I hope that you enjoy the images in my galleries as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
